Challenge

Often a project is led by one person who finds it difficult to cope with tracking all tasks

In our software, each user can manage tasks, add new bugs, comments, and requests to facilitate the work of project managers and evenly distribute the workload for all team members. To get access to all the features of KOALA DESK, they just need to have access to the Internet. This means that it does not matter how work processes occur in your company, and in what format your employees work.

Client/Target audience

The target audience of the created desktop application is the owners of small IT companies and project managers who need an easy-to-use project management solution for small groups where they can pay for each user separately (instead of paying for Premium services for all user groups).

Product vision

Product vision

That is why the created solution is an ideal choice for those owners of IT companies and project managers who do not want to pay for freelancers who use the application not only in the projects of a particular company but also outside of it. Now, this is no longer a problem - the Pay For Seats feature allows them to limit paid user options to a specific workspace. Also, thanks to our solution, now business owners do not need to pay for people who already have a premium subscription.

Our approach

Our main task was to create a flexible, scalable, and reliable solution with the ability to pay for features for each user separately. All these requirements are fully met by the following web development tools:

Django

This is a Python-based framework for developing web applications with which we created the backend

card__icon

React JS

This is a JS library for creating user interfaces, we used it for frontend development

card__icon

Testing

We paid special attention to testing the usability of the solution so that its interface has a minimal learning curve.

AWS S3

This is a cloud object storage with industry-leading scalability, data availability, security, and performance.

    • Users can post the created mail in their program environment so that other employees report bugs to this address (all received letters to this email turn into project tasks);
    • Users can place the created email on the site to use it as a contact form;
    • Managers and testers have the opportunity to read the received messages, which were previously automatically converted into tasks in a specially designated support board;

Cloud Project Management Software as a Startup - Worth It?

SaaS (Software as a Service) has become a very popular option in 2022. More and more companies do not develop their software from scratch, but buy a “right to use”, that is, a subscription to services. But despite the popularity of this model, this area is an unplowed field where promising startups can roam.
